EARLY GUIDELINES:

Book your stand early! You will have a better opportunity to be distinctive and more time to plan in order to promote your participation, leading up to the event. You shall also have a considerable amount of time to advertise to your existing and potential customers and inform them that you shall be a stall holder during this festival.

We advise you to design your stand so the visual impact reflects what you are trying to sell. It is important for customers to recognize what you have to offer. You also want to have gained personally from your efforts to take away with you at the end of the ten day period. Your staff should be prepared to approach and target the right people and be ready to interact in the busy environment, bursting with thousands of enthusiastic customers.

Participating in the exhibition is the first big step, but to take utmost advantage is to remain in contact with you a 2 b associates and your buyers.

Staff: Ensure that your staff are friendly, patient, motivated, provide the best possible customer service and are easy to negotiate with.
It is beneficial for your staff to have expertise knowledge on what your product and services has to offer. Brief staff as to the goals of you exhibiting, so they are able to focus solely on your benefits. Set specific targets (e.g. £ sales, visitor contacts) and offer rewards for achieving these targets. Have a de-briefing at the end of each day, to review results and problems which can then be improved.



EXHIBITOR JARGON:

A/V: Audio/visual such as television monitors, VCRs, or taped music

Aisle: A walkway intended for audience movement

Application
: The form you need to complete to apply for an exhibition stand

Back Wall: The panels located at the rear of an exhibit.

Banner: A suspended panel used as a decoration or a sign, usually made of fabric or paper for temporary use

Breakdown: Period allocated for removal of exhibits and stand build after the exhibition is finished

Contractor: An individual or company appointed by the organizers that provides services or materials to a trade show or its exhibitors

Fire Exit: A root designated for emergencies, which must be kept clear of all obstructions

Floor Manager: An individual representing show management who is responsible for the exhibition area

Floor Plan: The layout of an exhibition or event showing all the stands and major venue features

Header: A sign or other structure across the top of an exhibit

Liability: A legal term referring to responsibility for damages or injuries

: The amount or type of illumination in an exhibit or
exhibition hall.

Annual: Organizers issue an Exhibitor Manual to each exhibitor once they have contracted to the event. The manual will include information sections, checklists, order forms and catalogues for additional services.

Organizer: A company who puts the event together.

Rigging: The process of hanging lights or banners from the ceiling of a venue.

Shell Scheme: Exhibition space supplied with a basic stand. Which Includes carpet, walls and name board.

Space Only: Exhibition stand supplied as carpeted floor space. (On this occasion)

Stand: An area on which has an amount of stand build construction.

Stand Number: A number assigned by show management to identify the location of an exhibitor’s floor space.

Stand Size: The dimensions and resulting area of the floor space contracted by an exhibitor.

Supplier: A company who provides services to the exhibition industry. For example furniture, stand design, rigging, transport or signage.

Traffic Flow: The movement of visitors through an exposition or exhibit.
