The UK’S largest, first-ever Islamic shopping festival in the midlands has witnessed a record turnout of 50,000 visitors during its debut event. The Leicester Exhibition Centre (LEC), held the inaugural Ramadan Shopping Festival at its venue- with thousands of visitors and
shoppers pouring through the doors during the first two days of the event. The 10 day event, which began on September 20th, saw
around 100 exhibitors, showcasing their wares to shoppers from all across the UK. The first time running of this event has proven to be a great success. The spokesman for the centre said;
“People were rushing in, in hundreds on Saturday the 25th. This was a remarkable sight to see people had traveled from far to participate in this shopping festival. It was a pleasure to meet and greet a diverse range of people all under one roof and to witness the sense of unity that has never been witnessed before in Leicester.” |
